Through research, teaching and extensive facilitation experience, Karmit Bulman is skilled at facilitating critical meetings and dialogues. The facilitation process begins with a thorough assessment of the key issues to ensure all parties are able to address core concerns and universal needs. Next, Turnaround Solutions works on building consensus by first establishing trust to help participants feel a sense of ownership and hopefulness in what otherwise might appear to be a hopeless situation. Through open-ended questions and reframing, we help parties examine issues of :
Ms. Bulman has facilitated meetings for local housing associations, neighborhood groups, human rights groups, legislative task forces and non-profit organizations. She co-created and teaches an extensive survey course on collaborative facilitation processes and delivers trainings on facilitating with heart. In 2014, Ms. Bulman increased her use of Open Space Technology (openspaceworld.org) and finds it is a powerful process for collaborative problem solving.

Conflict Management
Both individuals and organizations can benefit from the services of an outside consultant trained in assessing conflict and designing a plan for addressing it. Turnaround Solutions uses a specially designed conflict assessment tool to help organizations make a plan to resolve conflict and move towards organizational health. We will work with organizational leadership to design strategies to change organizational culture to one of conflict competency.
Mediation Services

Through a series of mediation tools and strategies, Karmit Bulman helps parties examine critical issues such as trust, respect, appreciation, autonomy, status, and identity. Our focus in mediation is placed on relationship repair and understanding underlying interests of each mediation participant. Facilitative mediation empowers participants to find common ground and achieve lasting resolution to complex conflicts, while at the same time allowing for restoration of positive relationships.
Karmit Bulman has mediated hundreds of cases and has taught basic and advanced mediation skills 4-5 times each year for over 6 years. She helps people to truly listen to one another and to gain clarity about the core concerns, needs and values of each mediation participant. She has mediated cases in student-student, family, employment, civil rights, police-citizen, special education, housing, harassment, child protection, conciliation court, restorative justice, neighbor-neighbor, and business.
