Building a Strong and Effective Board of DirectorsIs your board of directors a "hands on" working board? A governance only board? Have you heard of the Carver model of board governance? How do roles get defined between the board and the executive director? How much interaction should there be between the board and staff of the organization? What role should the board have in fundraising for the organization? What is the most effective way to evaluate the performance of the executive director? How should strategic planning be addressed by the board? These are some of the areas that will be covered in this workshop. Consider having this workshop as the agenda for your first board meeting of the year. The hands on, action planning format for this session will provide a strong foundation for a successful non-profit board of directors.
